Don’t forget what He has done

Don’t forget what He has done

Be very careful not to forget what the Lord has done, the bible teaches us that even God’s chosen can turn away. Then cry out only in need:

Judges 10:11-14

The Message (MSG)

11-14 God answered the People of Israel: “When the Egyptians, Amorites, Ammonites, Philistines, Sidonians—even Amalek and Midian!—oppressed you and you cried out to me for help, I saved you from them. And now you’ve gone off and betrayed me, worshiping other gods. I’m not saving you anymore. Go ahead! Cry out for help to the gods you’ve chosen—let them get you out of the mess you’re in!”

How many times do we betray the father, we dedicate our time to things of the world. When hardships come we short God in our time and in our tithe. Often we even blame the Creator and seek to handle things our own way. We think upon things as if God is a genie in a bottle, when all else is failed and after all our sin and self-indulgence we turn to the father and say, "why, how did you let this happen, I thought you were a good God?"

If I want to have a successful marriage I must be faithful to my wife, if I want to have success in business then I need to spend my time at work productively and being about the business. I also need to make sure to maintain both relationships. The same is true with God, for success we need to remain faithful, we need to be about the business of our walk, and we need to maintain the relationship. By doing so, walking as he would have us walk, we avoid the need for a genie in a bottle as we already have all that we need. If troubles befall us do to our worship of other "gods" then we can expect the same response from God as the Israelites got.
